Need another surgical strike, says Indian army chief

Gen Bipin once again rehashed the old mantra that terrorism and talks can't go hand in hand.

MUMBAI (Dunya News) – Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Monday said that India needs to launch another surgical strike against terrorists.

In a statement, Army Chief Bipin said that if Pakistan wants to improve bilateral ties with India then it should take steps to enhance regional security.  He once again rehashed the old mantra that terrorism and talks can’t go hand in hand.

Earlier, Indian army chief was quoted as saying, “The decision of Modi’s govt is legitimate. You [read Pakistan] must take such an initiative which coerces us [read India] into contemplating that terrorism is not being sponsored.”

On Saturday, Gen Bipin had threatened to take limited military action against Pakistan Army saying it is time to give it back to them in the same leaving aside the kind of barbarism they had resorted to.

Rawat while making hollow claims said that it is important for the neighbouring country to also feel the pain and it needs to realise at the same time that it has to curb the terrorism menace.

The Indian army chief said that India will have to respond to Pakistan in their own language without resorting to barbarism.


Pakistan responds


Responding to General Bipin Rawat’s reckless remarks of teaching Pakistan a lesson, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major Gen Asif Ghafoor had stated Indian army has been indulged in their country’s politics in the wake of corruption scandals whereas he vehemently warned Indian civilian and military’s top brass against putting burden of their domestic issues on ‘Pakistan’s shoulders’.

Reiterating that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be mistaken for weakness, ISPR DG stated Pakistan is ready to give befitting reply to any misadventure while warning India of stern military repercussions. He urged Indian army chief to abstain from deteriorating peace situation.

He said, “Indian govt is facing graft scandals at home. And in bid to divert attention from their domestic issues, Indian army is hurling irresponsible statements of war”.

Apprising that Pakistan had been premeditatedly made target of terror menace, ISPR DG vowed not to let anybody—be it Indian army—derail the peace situation in the region.

Gen Ghafoor added that India had earlier staged drama of surgical strike whereas they [read Indian army] failed miserably in presenting the evidence for the same in their parliament.

“We will not let nation down if anybody tries to test our patience”, stated ISPR DG while adding that Indian army has been coerced into adopting such reckless narrative due to economic downturn and huge corruption scandals shrouding Modi-led BJP’s govt.

Adding that Indian govt has utterly failed to calm down indigenous struggle of Kashmiris, ISPR DG stated that third generation of the residents of occupied valley is tendering unrivaled sacrifices against Indian regime.
