KARACHI (Dunya News) – A lawmaker of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Thursday clarified he was not part of any forward bloc after a voice message attributed to him went viral.
Aftab Jehangir in his voice message reportedly expressed displeasure against the party’s Karachi leadership, including presidential pick Dr Arif Ali, saying they were “neglecting several members”.
Several members aren’t being taken into confidence whether there’s a meeting with other parties or contact with institutions to address the problems of the area, Jehangir said in his message.
He later issued a clarification saying he only went ahead with his audio message as the issue was not addressed and that he was not part of any forward bloc.
On Wednesday, TV host-turned-politician Amir Liaquat hit out at the party leadership for allegedly sidelining the lawmakers elected from Karachi.
In a voice message, Liaquat advised the ruling party to work for the betterment of society as people have selected them for bringing change in the country.
He said that differences will occur if party continues to neglect its own leaders. He also complained over not receving the invite to a dinner arranged by the Sindh governor.
