Iran offers Rs 24 billion for gas pipeline

Iran has offered to provide Rs 24 billion for the Pak-Iran gas pipeline.

After increase in pressure from Washington on Islamabad against Pak-Iran gas project, Iran has offered Rs 24 billion to Pakistan for laying gas pipeline.The cabinet will review the Iranian offer in its meeting today. According to the petroleum ministry, the contract for the $1.5 billion gas pipeline will be awarded to China or Russia if Iranian offer is rejected by the cabinet. For this purpose the rule will be relaxed.
