(Web Desk) - A French Muslim businesswoman and a mother Samira Amarir was struggling to find toys for her daughter which could help her impact Islamic faith, so she invented her own.

According to Reuters, Amarir came up with a Barbie look-alike “Jenna” doll, which she designed from scratch to help her daughter in learning the verses of Quran.

The doll can recite four chapters of the Holy Quran. The doll has entered into a mass production and is already on sale in Gulf Arab countries.

“When my daughter Jenna turned two years old, I was looking for a toy or a tool,” Amarir said.

“The idea was to come up with a toy that would enable her to learn the Quran fast and easily while she plays.”

The word ‘Jenna’ which is derived from the Arabic word heaven, comes in a long “abaya” robe with a matching headscarf.

Amarir used online modeling software to design the Barbie. She gave the doll a dark skin and little makeup.

“For me it was important that the doll would show something my daughter can recognise herself in, or recognise her mother at least,” she said.

The four chapters of Quran that Jenna recites are short and are designed to be easy for a child to memorise. Within days of beginning to play with the doll, Amarir’s daughter began reciting verses.

The family has moved from their home in France to the United Arab Emirates to market the doll.

After four years of hard work and many flights to Chinese factories to get the doll ‘Jenna’ produced, Amarir launched the doll earlier this year in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and the UAE.
