The tradition not only accounts for being denied to education but makes them vulnerable to violence.

Experts have suggested that child marriage, a common ritual in India and Ethiopia, can be tackled by learning from each other’s development model.
It has also been evaluated that occurrences like these happen in India due their nasty ritual of dowry, which is a prevalent social issue entrapping India.
Priya Nanda of the International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW) said proper implementation of polices was lacking at ground level despite several initiatives.

Child rights’ organization CRY (Child Rights and You) has revealed the disturbing fact that one third of the world’s child-brides hail from India. It further stated 240 million child brides out of 740 million are from India.

CRY CEO Puja Marwaha said child marriage that has become a socially acceptable tradition in India not only accounts for school dropouts, denying girls their due access to education but makes them prone to abuse, domestic violence and health risks.
