This development can help provide seamless and interference-free connections.

(Web Desk) - A PhD student from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands has discovered a new concept of ‘Li-Fi’ using harmless infrared light, instead of conventional LED.

Moreover, the capacity of the proposed system is massive, with more than 40 gigabits per second possible per light ray.

According to Engadget, this can help provide seamless and interference-free connections. The infrared light is in a frequency range of about 200THz. This surpasses conventional radio waves of Wi-Fi signals that only rely on 5GHz.

Researchers say that wireless networks crafted from rays of infrared light could soon allow you to connect to the internet 100 times faster than current systems of Wi-Fi.
