Governor Sindh said that both Federal and Sindh governments are working together

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that speculations being made on social media regarding the investigation report of PIA plane crash are false and these rumors should not be believed.

The Sindh Governor said that the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) is responsible for construction of buildings around the airport. He said that no country in the world has five-storey buildings around airports and strict action should be taken against the institutions and contractors who are responsible for this.

He said that it was very important to improve the SBCA and include it in the inquiry. He demanded that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah fix the SBCA as the department was subordinate to him and said that he will fully cooperate where it is needed.

Imran Ismail said the process of identifying the bodies through DNA is underway and if the heirs manage to identify the deceased, the body is released immediately. He said that both Federal and Sindh governments are working together to hand over the bodies of the victims to their families as soon as possible.

Governor Imran Ismail also said that lockdown is not the solution to coronavirus and he has been against it since day one. He said that what the Prime Minister has been suggesting from day one is now being accepted by the whole world.

Talking to media, he said that the Prime Minister has directed to provide assistance to the victims and their families as soon as possible and the government will bear the cost of rebuilding the houses affected by the plane crash.

Answering a question, he said that the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee had announced the sighting of Eid moon and the PM has no plans to abolish the Committee, nor does he want to.
