Anti-corruption body recovered land worth Rs129bn last year: Shahzad
Akbar said that the FIA has recovered Rs7 billion in the past one year.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar on Friday said that Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment recovered government land worth Rs129 billion last year.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, while responding to PML-N leader Maryam Aurangzeb s questions in a news conference in Islamabad on
Monday, he said that Asset Recovery Unit (ARU) spent Rs23 million so far on its administrative expenditures, including the salaries of staff.
The special assistant said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also recovered money under plea-bargain law.
He said Asset Recovery Unit was formed to recover illegal money of Pakistanis abroad.
Regarding the performance of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Akbar said that the agency has recovered Rs7 billion in the past one year, while the Anti-Corruption Punjab had recovered land worth Rs129 billion. He said that the government had spent Rs10.3 million on the ARU.
Akbar also alleged that the PML-N had laundered money in the past through cash boys . "Who were Masroor Anwar and Shoaib cash boys?" he asked.
