Pak Army sepoy martyred in North Waziristan terrorist attack

ISPR said Kharqamar attack took place following arrest of militants facilitators by Pakistan Army.

NORTH WAZIRISTAN (Dunya News) – 26-year-old sepoy Amal Shah on Saturday embraced martyrdom in landmine blast and firing on Pakistan Army vehicle in North Waziristan’s Boyya area.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the terrorists first opened fire on the Army vehicle, which was on routine patrolling in the area, before they attacked it with an improvised explosive device (IED).

According to the ISPR,during last one month 5 soldiers have been martyred and 31 got injured due to terrorist attacks.

ISPR said the attacks on armed forces in North Waziristan have surged while Kharqamar incident took place after Pakistan Army arrested militants’ facilitators.

Sources told that five officers have embraced martyrdom while 31 sustained severe wounds in North Waziristan terror attacks in one month. 

Earlier on May 26, a group led by Members of the National Assembly (MNA) and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leaders Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir had assaulted Kharqamar check post, Boyya, North Waziristan tribal district.

They wanted to exert pressure for release of suspected terrorists’ facilitator arrested the other day, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement told.

"Troops at the check-post exercised maximum restraint in the face of provocation and direct firing on the post," the army said.

Separately, a soldier embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire with militants, who attacked Makki Garh checkpost in Shawal valley of North Waziristan. "Terrorists raided Makki Garh Post, Shawal Valley, North Waziristan," ISPR stated.


Mohsin Dawar demands Pak Army to leave Waziristan


Following the Kharqamar attack, National Assembly Member (MNA) Mohsin Dawar, while repeating the demands of banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and terrorists, said that Pakistan Army should leave Waziristan.

In an interview to foreign media, Dawar unveiled reason and reality behind the attack on Kharqamar check post and said, "We now demand removal of Pakistan Army from Waziristan."
