NAB warns Hamza Shahbaz to turn himself in without politicising the matter

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore on Saturday warned the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz to not take the law into his own hands, and that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader should turn himself in without politicising the matter.

This statement has been released by the NAB amid intense standoff between PML-N workers and police officers, and NAB team over the arrest of Hamza Shahbaz at the residence of Shehbaz Sharif in Model Town area of Lahore.

The bureau further maintained that Hamza’s arrest warrants are in accordance with the law and “are implementable.”

Regarding the party workers, the bureau warned them to not intervene in the matter, and that “all people are equal in the eyes of the law.”

"PML-N workers are tensening the environment on the party leadership’s orders," the release said.

It is further said that in order to implement the directives of Hamza’s arrest and the current law and order situation, Rangers’ assistance has been sought.
