(Web Desk) - The remarkable chapter of the judicial system of Pakistan is ending today which will be marked as significant period following a comprehensive compilation of historical decisions for a number of cases which will be considered exemplary in the long run for all upcoming judiciary associated officials.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar is going to retire today whose era will always be remembered. CJP Saqib Nisar transformed judiciary in a unique angle unlike the other traditional practices. He emphasized on the importance of accountability and that no one is free from being regulated.
Among the notable actions of Mian Saqib Nisar as Chief Justice of Pakistan, a number of suo-motu notices for different social and political matters have been marked exemplary. He has maintained his image as a good listener for common man and resolved thousands of issues to provide relief on unconditional grounds.
CJP Saqib Nisar always believed on work, work and work policy and so he provided justice to more than 1000 litigants during his era. Moreover, he used to hear the cases even on his weekly holiday while prioritizing the provision of justice to the people.
Apart from routine cases, he coined the importance of dam construction while highlighting the sensitivity of the matter. He repetitively stated that if no radical steps would be taken now for dam construction then Pakistan will soon be deprived of water in the near future that it will not be possible to fulfill even basic needs. He initiated a campaign for dam fund collection as the economic state of Pakistan is weak to bear the huge budget.
This campaign gained so much hype within limited time period that people begun to actively donate for the dams from all sectors. He worked hard to make this impossible turn into something actually possible so that the future generations wouldn’t have to face deficiency of water.
CJP Saqib Nisar, for the first time in judicial history of Pakistan, organized 3-day water symposium to highlight the matter in terms of its significance not only in the country but also on the global level so that exchange of productive ideas for dam construction and water safety measures could proceed.
Mian Saqib Nisar took up major cases and declared historical verdicts for the matters of public interest as well as all those cases holding constitutional importance. After the final decision against Nawaz Sharif in terms of Panama Case, CJP also disqualified the former prime minister as party head.
Apart from that, Mian Saqib Nisar gained a lot of acclamation for elimination of taxes on mobile phone cards. He also took notice of the miserable condition of hospitals in different cities and visited there to review the facilities for patients with which the situation got better. He also took notice of expensive rates of stunts for the heart patients and revised it to the affordable price.
A number of complainants were routinely observed outside the court to approach CJP Saqib Nisar in order to get justice. He used to come out of the court and meet them all to hear their matters which showed that CJP didn’t consider anything above than the sense of serving humanity.
Among all notable cases of Chief Justice of Pakistan, the matter of government officials having dual nationality, the notice against officials being excessively paid by the 56 companies of Punjab, mineral water case, dissolution of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council followed by the orders of new legislation, quality checking of milk, railways deficit case against Khawaja Saad Rafique, different land occupation cases, and hearing of money laundering cases will be graded as Justice Saqib Nisar’s special services to judiciary.
