Contempt Case: Faisal Raza Abidi's bail plea sent to chief justice

The lawyer said divisional bench headed by Justice Athar Minallah is hearing the other petition

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday dispatched the bail plea of former senator and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Faisal Raza Abidi to Chief Justice.

IHC judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani conducted hearing on the bail plea of Faisal Raza Abidi.

During the proceedings, the counsel of Faisal Raza Abidi was of the view that anti-terrorism clauses were added in his client’s case, so this is a matter of divisional bench.

The lawyer said that a divisional bench headed by Justice Athar Minallah is hearing the other petition.

He said that the plea should be clubbed in the same petition.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani remarked that he was sending the matter to chief justice.
