SC sends Anwar Majeed, son to jail in fake accounts case

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Monday directed authorities concerned to shift Omni Group Chairman Anwar Majeed and his son to prison.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar during the hearing of the fake accounts case said his message should be delivered to the Sindh chief minister.

“If Anwar Majeed and Abdul Ghani were to be be found in the jail superindendent’s room by night then they’ll be shifted to Punjab and the cases will be investigated in Punjab only,” he added.

JIT head Ahsan Sadiq told the court that investigation regarding 29 fake accounts is underway. “The FIA exposed 15 fake accounts while we discovered 33 others,” he added.

Ahsan Sadiq said that 334 people remained involve in transaction of money and that Omni Group owns 47 companies and 16 sugar mills.
