Punjab CM orders forensic audit of departments

Audit of education, forestry, treasury, and police departments will be carried out in first phase.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar during a meeting of the provincial cabinet Wednesday called for a forensic audit of relevant departments.

Buzdar had expressed reservation on the performance of several departments and ordered the audit into the departments with highest complaints of corruption, nepotism and lack of merit.

According to sources privy to the development, authorities concerned will carry out the audit of education, forestry, treasury, and police departments in the first phase.

Earlier in the day, at least 12 newly-appointed members of the Punjab cabinet took oath of their respective offices at a ceremony held at the Governor’s House.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar administered oath to the ministers namely Pir Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah, Mehar Muhammad Aslam Bharwana, Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi, Muhammad Ajmal, Muhammad Ikhlaq, Ashfa Riaz, Shaukat Lalika, Zawar Hussain Warraich, Aijaz Masih, Muhammad Akhtar, Muhammad Khalid Mehmood and Jahanzaib Khachi.
