ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan on Saturday took suo motu notice of setting schools’ on fire in Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He has summoned report from GB government and interior secretary in 48 hours.

Unidentified assailants burned down at least 12 girls’ schools in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Chilasand Diamer district late on Thursday night and fled, causing panic among residents.

The police has arrested at least 16 suspects and registered six cases against unidentified men in the incident.


Interim PM summons report


Interim Prime Minister Justice (retired) Nasirul Mulk on strongly condemned the incident and directed to bring the perpetrators to justice. The premier also sought report of the incident from authorities concerned.


PTI condemns attack


PTI Chairman Imran Khan also condemned the attack on schools and promised that his party will implement its agenda to ensure the provision of quality education across the country.

The PTI chief said that girls’ education is an integral part of the upcoming government’s policies.
