Weidong writes letter to Shehbaz, reiterates China's support for Pakistan
The former Chinese envoy also praised Shehbaz for his role as chief minister of the Punjab province.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday he was humbled on a letter of gratitude addressed to him by a Chinese diplomat.
The former Punjab chief minister shared the letter by Sun Weidong, who served as China’s representative in Pakistan during the PML-N’s government from 2013-2018, on Twitter.

Weidong spoke of his country’s relationship with Pakistan, saying Beijing valued its relations with Islamabad and “always takes Pakistan as a priority in its diplomacy”.
The former ambassador, while highlighting the success of the economic corridor project (CPEC), praised Shehbaz for his role as chief minister of the Punjab province.
“I hope that you continue to contribute to the development of the bilateral relations. Wish you good health and everything goes well,” read the letter.
