Those who are donating money for dams' construction should be encouraged: CJP

CJP has summoned finance secretary in personal capacity on Tuesday.

SLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Supreme Court on Monday has expressed satisfaction over the public response to the bank account opened for the construction of dams in the country.

Hearing a case pertaining to dams in Islamabad, a bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said that the audit of dam account will be carried out under the supervision of the apex court.

He said that the people have sent messages, expressing their disbelief on government. State Bank of Pakistan is portraying that the account has been opened for the government which is not true, he added.

Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that SBP is creating difficulties for the people instead of eliminating them. He further assured to not give commission to anyone from the funds.

Moreover, CJP has also summoned finance secretary in personal capacity on Tuesday.
