The PML-N leader said his party is one and united when it comes to elections.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lambasting the accountability process against the Sharif family, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz has said, "Nothing came to fold in (our) trial during the military’s rule. Even then our family triumphed."

In an exclusive interview with  Mahaaz  ahead of a general election due later this month, Hamza ruled out row in the family, saying his relationship with Nawaz Sharif is based on love and respect.

"There is no dispute. Maryam is my elder sister. I believe that the lust for power always betrays. Life’s too short and shouldn t be given away to hate."

On Kulsoom Nawaz, who was diagnosed with cancer while undergoing medical tests in London, he said, "She is recovering. I pray to Allah for her speedy recovery."

He denied the emergence of a front in the party. "There is only one leader of the PML-N and he is Nawaz Sharif. There can be differences in opinion. But we are one and united when it comes to elections," said Hamza.

Asked what he thinks of the accountability process against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Hamza referred to the cases of Jahangir Tareen and Imran Khan, saying they were of similar nature to the ones Nawaz is facing.

"Nawaz Sharif should get justice. Imran and Tareen faced the same cases. Sharif family has passed through tough times before. Our supporters have a long history of offering sacrifice for the supreme cause."

Hamza expressed the confidence that his party would win the elections. "God willing, people s court will give its verdict on July 25. Nation will hold those who lied and cashed in on fake promises accountable that day."

The PML-N leader also took a jibe at PML-N s main rival and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Imran Khan. "Imran Khan should learn a thing or two about morality. He couldn’t prove allegations leveled against Shehbaz Sharif."

"Had there been a World Cup of liars… Imran would’ve won."
