Lyari incident: Asif Zardari urges stalwarts to be patient

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Responding to recent untoward incident in Lyari, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardai urged stalwarts to refrain from revengeful acts and be patient.

Asif Ali Zardari went on to say that those who were afraid of Benazir Bhutto now fear Bilawal Bhutto. The co-chairman claimed that Karachi’s Lyari remains bastion of the PPP.

On the other hand, police are carried out raids to apprehend miscreants who pelted stones at Bilawal’s motorcade and resorted to vandalism.

Later, Bilawal’s stalwarts came to his rescue and pelted stones back at the protesters. Additional contingent of police have been summoned to control the situation.

Police resorted to baton-charge to disperse the angry protesters. At least one member of the PPP was injured in the clashes and rushed to hospital for treatment.
