ISLAMBAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court has rejected pleas of Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) Mir Shoaib Nosherwani and PPP’s Amin Imrani seeking permission to contest elections from PP-42 Kharan and PP-12 Nasirabad respectively.

During separate hearings conducted by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, Justice Aijazul Hasan told Nosherwani he did not challenge the decision of the disciplinary committee.

“The committee ruled your degree fake. The statement by the (varsity) controller is also against you,” Justice Hasan remarked.

The petitioner’s counsel told the bench Nosherwani’s nomination papers were rejected owing to his degree. That, however, was not the case, he added.

Separately, Imrani’s counsel prayed to the court to allow his client to contest elections from PP-12 Nasirabad till the verdict comes out.

“On what grounds should we allow you to contest polls? Even your review petition has no merit,” Chief Justice Nisar remarked.

The court later dismissed both the petitions filed by Imrani through his counsel.
