ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on his party’s workers in Karachi.

In his tweet, Khan urged the Sindh government to take action against those who used violence against PTI workers.

He maintained that strong arm tactics by PPP reflects their fear of PTI s rising popularity in Sindh.

On Monday, workers of PPP and PTI clashed with each other at the Hakeem Saeed Ground in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, the venue for May 12 public meetings announced by both parties.

Hakeem Saeed Ground turned into a battle field as PPP and PTI workers pelted stones at each other and also resorted to attack with sticks and iron rods. Angry PPP activists also set ablaze PTI camp at the venue.

Several vehicles and motorcycles were damaged as protesters pelted stones. Two vehicles and dozens of motorcycles were also torched. Scores of people were also injured. Protesters also resorted to aerial firing.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah while taking notice of the incident has ordered an inquiry.
