PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Friday directed the authorities to test the water of Peshawar in Punjab laboratory as to check whether it is fit for drinking or not.

During the hearing of clean drinking water provision case headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, he ordered to gather samples of water from various areas of the city.

“You neither have a laboratory nor high quality machine. How the tests would then will be conducted,” remarked the CJP resentfully.

He, however; expressed satisfaction over the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health secretary.

In a case pertaining to health and education, the CJP remarked, “What sort of a province is this where the secretary is being paid less than the chairman of Health Care Commission.”

“Mr Secretary! You are a very innocent man. How come a man working as your sub-ordinate is receiving higher salary than you?”

The CJP also heard a case regarding provision of security to unauthorized individuals.

KP Inspector General (IG) Salahuddin Mehsud presented the report of the case in the court. He told that security has been taken back from 1769 unauthorized people.

“You have done a remarkable job. If the court can saliute anyone, I would have done it to you,” said the Chief Justice.
