Guarantor of the finance minister in assets beyond means case has moved the high court.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Guarantor of finance minister Ishaq Dar in assets beyond means case has challenged accountability court’s verdict of seizure of his property in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday.

Dar’s guarantor Ahmed Ali Qaddoosi has petitioned the high court claiming that there is no element of dishonesty in absence of Dar from accountability court’s hearings and that the order to seize his property is illegal.

The petitioner has moved the high court after accountability court declared the finance minister a proclaimed offender and ordered to seize property of his guarantor.

Accountability court had ruled in its order that a medical report was filed by the finance minister to lengthen the case and that Dar was maintaining absence on purpose.

The judge had further ruled that federal minister’s guarantor should submit Rs 5 million within three days or his property would be seized and auctioned off.

It should be mentioned here that the guarantor has not submitted the surety money after the granted time has expired.
