Karachi's public transport projects await completion

(Dunya News) – With 2017 coming to an end, not even a single public transportation project to facilitate the residents of Karachi has neared its completion.
Whether it is the federal government’s Green Line, the provincial government’s Edhi Line Bus or the most important - Circular Railway project, not even a single transit project in the coastal city has neared its completion owing to the indolence of the authorities.
While the Green Line project that was expected to conclude this year in December is still under construction, the Edhi Line project hasn’t reached 30 percent completion.
The foundation of the Circular Railway project as part of the CPEC was to be laid last year, but hurdles in its development like that of encroachments are yet to be resolved.
The indolence of the authorities in the completion of the projects has affected not just the commuters, but with the passage of time, the construction costs have maximised too.
