No US drone strike against Haqqani network in Pakistan: ISPR
"Several air strikes were carried out in Afghanistan in the last 24 hours in Khost and Paktia areas"
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Inter-Services Public Relations has stated on Tuesday that there has been no United States drone strike in Pakistan as several reports have claimed of killing of 31 Haqqani terrorists.
Media cell of the military stated that reports about drone strike in Kurram Agency are false and there has been no violation of Pakistani air space by the United States unmanned aircraft.
It was further reported that several air strikes were carried out in Afghanistan in the last 24 hours in Khost and Paktia areas opposite to Kurram Agency by Resolute Support Mission.
“There has been no air violation along Pak-Afg border in that area nor any drone strike in Kurram Agency as being misreported by few. Based on timely sharing, Pakistan Army is vigilant as Anvil on own side along Pak-Afghan border,” ISPR reported.
According to an AFP report, US drone strike in Kurram Agency of Pakistan killed 31 Haqqani militants whose eradication and destruction of safe havens on Pakistani soil have been repeatedly claimed by the military.
"First drone strike killed five fighters from Haqqani network and minutes apart a second drone then fired two more missiles after militants arrived to retrieve dead bodies from the rubble," a senior government official was quoted by AFP Tuesday.
