Govt, opposition again request help from Fazl, Sherpao announced support for PML-N

PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have on Monday requested supported from Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl ur-Rehman for NA4 by-election, reported Dunya News.

As the by-election draws near the ruling party in the federation PML-N and the opposition party PPP requested support from Fazl. Meanwhile, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chief Aftab Sherpao announced support for PML-N.

PML-N and PPP delegations met the JUI-F chief at his residence separately. The PML-N delegation led by Engineer Amir Muqam met Fazl. He was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousuf. The meeting also discussed NA4 situation.

PPP delegation led by former deputy speaker Faisal Karim Kundi also met Fazl ur-Rehman. According to sources, the PPP delegation requested JUI-F to pull their candidate out. PPP senator Qayyum Soomro claimed that the meeting was positive. He added that PPP wanted a joint candidate filed by the opposition.

On the other hand, QWP’s candidate withdrew in favour of PML-N candidate.
