(Web Desk) – Located in the heart of Lahore, NA-120 has had a rich political history witnessing some of the most important politicians being elected into the National Assembly through their votes.

While the PMLN has largely enjoyed an unwavering political support, with Nawaz Sharif having won elections here in 1988, 1990, 1993, 1997 and in 2013, and becoming the prime minister from this constituency twice, other parties seem to have found some ground here as well.

Before 2002, the constituency was divided into two areas, NA 95 and 96. The Pakistan Peoples Party won the elections here in 1970 and then again in 1977.

After Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification from the public office by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the seat was left vacant.

Kulsoom Nawaz is contesting the by-election in a bid to hold the seat for the ruling PML-N.

PTI’s Dr. Yasmin Rashid will be contesting for the second time from NA-120, after having earlier contested against Nawaz Sharif during the 2013 elections.
