Kulsoom Nawaz diagnosed with throat cancer: political commentator
Nawaz had flown to the United Kingdom (UK) early last week for a medical checkup
LONDON (Dunya News) – Disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz is reportedly diagnosed with throat cancer on Tuesday (August 22), political analyst and commentator Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami said in programme Nuqta-e-Nazar.
Nawaz had flown to the United Kingdom (UK) early last week to get her medical check up done.
Wife of the ex-premier is to contest NA-120 by-polls after Nawaz was ousted by the elections commission over top court’s July 28 verdict under Article 62 and Article 63 of the Constitution.
Sources privy to the family have reported that ex-premier’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz would lead PML-N’s electioneering in the constituency in her mother’s absence owing to the medical treatment that medics have said would be started at the earliest.
Nawaz is going to contest the polls against PTI’s Yasmin Rashid among other candidates on September 17.
Election commission had released the schedule after verdict of the apex court.
