Leaders of Pakistan work for calculated performance until the elections they have to contest next

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said on Tuesday that the adverse effects the country has borne owing to decisions of inefficient governments are beyond one’s comprehension and incaculable.

Khan addressed a ceremony in the federal capital and in his address he said that the more deforestation is done the more areas are vulnerable to floods.

Khan lauded Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government s forestation campaign and acknowleged the steps that were taken on this front.

The department confronted Timber wood mafia and for around 70,000 acres of encroached land. A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader was also backing the mafia, Khan alleged however, the department stood firm and achieved their targets.

He said that it was not easy and the officials are to be appreciated and encouraged for the actions. Khan said that the leaders of Pakistan work for calculated performance only until the elections that they have to contest next.

He drew attention towards steps needed to maintain environment by pointing out that Pakistan is ranked seventh in the list of countries that are most affected by global warming.

KP government was ridiculed over Billion Tree Campaign but it became one of the most successful initiatives of the PTI government.

PTI chief said that around 70 percent of the industrial sector was shut at the time when PTI assumed power in the province and the situation is much better today.
