Imran Khan expressed his views in a series of tweets.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – After US President Donald Trump levelled serious allegations on Pakistan of providing “safe havens” to extremists in his first formal address to the nation as commander-in-chief, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Tuesday gave a strong reaction saying the time has come for Pakistan to say ‘never again’ again to America regarding its deeply flawed and failed policies.

Imran expressed his views in a series of tweets and said, “Just as India blames Pak for the indigenous Kashmiri uprisings when these are a result of its own failed policy of mly repression in IOK.”

“So the US again blames Pak for its deeply flawed & failed Afghan policy stretching over a decade.”

“This shd teach Pak once and for all a valuable lesson: never to fight others wars for the lure of dollars.”

“We fought 2 wars in Afghanistan at the US behest paying heavy human and economic costs both times. We sacrificed 70000 Pak lives in US WOT.”

“Our economy suffered over $100 billion in losses. In addition, there were intangible costs on our society. Time for Pak to say: Never again.”

“We must also reject being made scapegoats for the policy failures of the US and India.”

In his address, Donald Trump warned Pakistan that Washington will no longer tolerate Pakistan offering "safe havens" to extremists.

"We can no longer be silent about Pakistan’s safe havens for terrorist organizations," Trump declared, outlining a new US security strategy in South Asia.

"Pakistan has much to gain from partnering with our effort in Afghanistan. It has much to lose by continuing to harbor criminals and terrorists."

Going further, Trump suggested that military and other aid to Washington’s nuclear-armed ally is at stake if it does not clamp down on extremism.

"We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting," he said.

"That will have to change and that will change immediately," he said.

"It is time for Pakistan to dedicate to civilization and order and peace."
