Nawaz concluded his 'homecoming rally' in Lahore on August 12

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Spokesperson for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has cleared on Sunday that Nawaz Sharif would not be addressing a press conference on August 14 (Monday) as he does not want to indulge in anything political on the Independence Day.

The ousted premier had announced on August 12 during Lahore’s Data Darbar address to workers of the party as part of ‘homecoming rally’ that he would lay bare next course-of-action of the party following his disqualification by the top court in a corruption reference.

The spokesperson said that the political party would consult other parties before Nawaz Sharif will be announcing party’s agenda. Nawaz Sharif was ordered by the apex court on July 28 to be disqualified under Article 62 and Article 63.

PML-N then nominated former oil minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as candidate for the premiership who was later elected Prime Minister in a National Assembly (NA) session with over 200 votes.

The fresh Prime Minister has said multiple times after he was sworn in that policies of Nawaz Sharif would continue to prevail as according to him he ‘remains to be the premier of Pakistan’.
