Another week gone. ‘Grand Trunk Road homecoming’ of Nawaz Sharif was all there was on the telly but we tapped into entertainment, lifestyle and everything apolitical in a rather defiant week that it was for us.

However, we will serve the ‘homecoming rally’ starters to begin the full-course meal.

Disqualified Nawaz takes GT Road to home

The ousted premier rejected recommended motorway plan and took up suggestions for GT Road to return to his Jati Umra residence after over 77 hours since departing from Islamabad.

Cavalcade of Nawaz Sharif set out on August 9 and the former premier stayed the night in Rawalpindi and resumed his journey with PML-N supporters at 11:00am on Thursday before staying the August 10 night in Jhelum.

Nawaz rally pushed for its last leg of the journey on Saturday with Nawaz enterting Lahore.

The ousted premier addressed the public in Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Lahore. He also addressed the rally participants from inside his four-wheeler BMW while on road using a dedicated mic.

His derogatory language, to say the least, killed the GT Road fun.

Nonetheless, the guy who now has his son play with him on different platforms, was given what he needed the most; some bashing.

‘Misleading’ Khawaja Asif or ‘ill-informed’ minister

After Shehbaz Sharif attracted flak for tweeting picture of a United States power plant when what he wanted to share was that of Sahiwal plant, this time it is Khawaja Asif who tweeted Mumtaz Qadri s chehlum picture posing it as a gathering of  homecoming rally .

Gulalai’s sister appreciates Imran Khan’s tweet

Ayesha Gulalai s allegations are one thing but Maria Toorpakai s appreciation for Imran Khan for sending out a message on social media in her support is something to be talked about this week.

Toorpakai appreciated Khan for extending support to her in an August 3 tweet when PTI workers and cyber force were involved in mudslinging following her MNA sister s allegations against the PTI chief.

Ali Zafar is visiting Hollywood with his younger brother Daniyal who made his singing debut with Coke Studion season 10 in a duet with Momina Mustehsan.

Zafar posted a picture on the social media this week with none other than the guy who  chases mavericks like no one else and ceases the day by saving the White House from coming down , Gerard Butler.

Rueters learnt this week that German local Benjamin David swims to his work daily as he got fed up of long tiring road travel by public transport or his car.

David packs up his laptop and his routine items in a waterproof bag and jumps right in River Isar, washing away his traffic anger.

English Premier League was off to a start this week with Arsenal vs Leicester serving as an apt beginning. Arsenal, losing to Leicester netted two in the last 10 minutes to land a four to three win.

 Mother Teresa  of Pakistan passes away

Dr Ruth Pfau is no more with us.

Dr. Ruth Katherina Martha Pfau, ‘Pakistan’s Mother Teresa , was a German medical practitioner who spent her life treating leprosy patients in Pakistan.

She was admitted to the ICU of the Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre on Wednesday this week (August 9) for breathing difficulties where she passed away during a surgery.

Twitter Buffet is silent over the loss because her stature exceeds words.

The playback artist slammed an independence gathering organised in F-9 Park Islamabad from August 12 to August 14 by denying that he was playing a concert there contrary to apparent claims of the organisers.
