Kulsoom Nawaz ready to contest NA-120 by-election: family sources
Shehbaz Sharif was the first choice as PML-N candidate for NA-120 by-poll and premiership
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A source within Sharif family confirmed on Thursday that Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif, will contest the by-election of NA-120.
Although Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif was the first choice for NA-120 as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate along with premiership, the nomination was withdrawn by Nawaz Sharif and he was told to continue with the dedication in his province.
Kusloom Nawaz will submit her documents in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday. The parliament seat was emptied after disqualification of Nawaz Sharif in Supreme Court Panama case verdict.
She will be head-to-head with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Yasmin Rashid who has already started her election campaign in the constituency. Imran Khan had earlier announced to address a workers convention in NA-120.
