YDA strike in Lahore hospitals enters tenth day

Young doctors had threatened to shut the emergency after 72 hours.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Young doctors continue to strike in hospitals on tenth day in Lahore with their 72-hour deadline culminating on Thursday.

The indoor and outdoor departments are under a complete shutdown in five major teaching hospitals of the city. The strike has forced to postpone more than 4000 operations and has landed the patients in utmost misery.

Young doctors had threatened to shut the emergency after 72 hours. Secretary health has invited the doctors for negotiations at 12 noon.

Punjab health department spokesperson has said that it is not acceptable to close hospitals’ emergency and play with patients  lives. He asserted that the option regarding dialogue is not closed.
