Musharraf's policies brought Pakistan to brink of destruction: Saad Rafique
Musharraf's false promises exposed as country's sovereignty compromised time and again, says Saad
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, has bitterly criticised the comments of former President Pervez Musharraf regarding civilian rule and supremacy. In a series of tweets, Saad Rafique lambasted the role of Musharraf, arguing that dictators have always compromised the national interests of Pakistan in the region and globally.
He said that Musharraf was a usurper and an enemy of the people. He further said that oppressive policies of dictator Musharraf shook the foundations of the country.
He lashed out at the unconstitutional role of the dictators, whose actions only belong to the garbage bin of history and no one has sympathy to even remember them . He stated that dictators take cover by legitimising their power through fake reforms and worthless policies.
‘The performance of the elected representatives was more than their shortcomings hence they have been remembered,’ claimed Rafique. He further said, "Pakistan’s dictators show the people their fists and lick the boots of the enemies."
“Whenever martial law was imposed in the country, it was the need of the hour,” Musharraf had told BBC Urdu in an interview this week, defending the military rules in the country. Claiming that all Asian countries progressed because of dictatorships, the former president said Pakistan was also set on the right path by military rulers but when they left the civilians derailed it.
Musharraf said the case against him under Article 6 was inappropriate.
