The notification was issued over four hours after the top court ordered the commission

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a disqualification notification on Friday for Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, complying to Supreme Court s order that was delivered earlier today.

The notification was issued over four hours after the top court ordered the commission to disqualify the premier.

Analysts have termed the disqualification a political turmoil for Pakistan with apex court ordering disqualification of a sitting premier over a technicality.

Verdict of the top court came over petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Awami Muslim League (AML). The SC had taken up the court in October last year.

According to the verdict, the premier could not offer a reasonable explanation for not withdrawing 10,000 Dirham as salary for his services rendered to the company owned by his son in Dubai.

Imran Khan, the key petitioner for PM s disqualification has announced to celebrate the verdict on July 30 in a Youm-e-Tashakur rally in Islamabad.

In a press conference addressed today by senior representatives of the ruling party, Barrister Zafar said that the history would judge the judges of the top court for the verdict they delivered today.
