Met Office has predicted additional rainfall in various areas of Punjab, KP and Karachi.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The new monsoon rain spell begun in the country on Sunday with the Met Office predicting additional rainfall in various areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi.

During the next 24 hours, rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at a number of places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Hazara, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad divisions and Kashmir.

Rain may also occur at scattered places in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Sibbi, Zhob, Nasirabad divisions, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan.

All concerned authorities have been advised to remain alert during next three days to deal with any eventuality.

Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Strong monsoon currents are penetrating into eastern parts of country. A westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during next few days.

Islamabad 26°C, Lahore 30°C, Karachi and Peshawar 29°C, Quetta 19°C, Gilgit 20°C, Murree 18°C and Muzaffarabad 23°C.
