The presser will be held at 05:00 PM.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali is all set to hold a press conference today at 05:00 PM despite Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders’ request to not do that.

After Nisar announced to exchange thoughts on his ongoing rift with the party, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique and another important member reached Punjab House to appease the displeased minister.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) members told the interior minister that he is an asset of the party, requested him to not hold the presser, and one federal minister even beseeched Ch Nisar by joining both hands in front of him. Chaudhry Nisar told PML-N leaders that he is still bound to party discipline, and any sort of irresponsible behavior or statement should not be expected from him during the press conference, however, he possesses the right to express his complains.

Chaudhry Nisar said there is a limit to endure anything, and his resentment increased when his loyalty for the party was doubted. He said if things were said against him to the premier then it was his responsibility to clarify them by talking to him in person. Let it also be known that the interior minister is strongly against the party policy regarding the Panama case and the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

PML-N ministers and members are still confident that Nisar will not betray the party, and the indecent desires of opponents will be foiled. Khawaja Saad Rafique took to Twitter and said Chaudhry Nisar has been the member of PML-N and companion of Nawaz Sharif for 32 years, he will stay with the party. He further said that Nisar will be on frontline during the difficult times, and will not back down.

Sources have revealed that the interior minister has openly said to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif that he cannot accept Defence Minister Khawaja Asif or Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal as the prime minister if Nawaz has to leave his office.

It has further been learnt that if any of these two will be appointed as the premier then Chaudhry Nisar will resign from his ministry, but will not quit PML-N and support the party just as a Member National Assembly (MNA). Sources have further disclosed that PM Nawaz is likely to contact Ch Nisar today to iron out his reservations.

The spokesperson of interior minister had earlier clarified the reports of dispute between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Nisar. It should be noted that an all-important consultative meeting occurred on Friday (yesterday) between the premier and other senior leadership which excluded the interior minister.

All federal ministers, advisors, legal experts and special assistants to the premier had attended the meeting to discuss the Panama case final verdict which has been reserved by the Supreme Court. Nisar remained absent from the scene while sources told that he had been in his office.
