The minister expressed his views in a press conference in Lahore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has made it quite clear that no relaxation can be given to those drivers who are involved in accidents.

The minister held a press conference in Lahore and gave strict warning to the drivers to not act like ‘wicked children’ and come back to their duties. He also let it be known that all trains are operational at the moment.

It is worth mentioning here that trains remained stranded whole night as a result of the drivers’ strike over non-fulfillment of their demands. Railway drivers while disrupting the entire system stopped the operations of Tezgam, Karakoram Express, Fareed Express, Khyber Mail, Allama Iqbal, Millat Express and Pakistan Express at Rohri, Mehrabpur, Khairpur and other stations.

Khawaja Saad Rafique told that 13 drivers are under arrest, and terrorism cases will be lodged against them. He said a huge amount of hard work has been done to lift back this institution on its feet, and he won’t let it convert into a ‘Landa Bazar’ (flea market). All shabby locomotors have also been revamped, he remarked.

Khawaja Saad Rafique made it loud and clear that the operation of Pakistan Railways will not stop from now onwards. The federal minister further told that four out of six demands of the protesters have been accepted.
