CM Shehbaz Sharif was flown in from Lahore in a private flight exclusively for the meeting

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Consultative meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that was chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has decided that he would not tender his resignation and would wait for top court’s judgment in corruption case.

The premier convened a meeting with senior representatives of the ruling party including Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif, except for interior minister Chaudhry Nisar, in the federal capital today, the day the top court reserved verdict in Panama Leaks case.

Reportedly, the participants expressed their confidence in him and agreed that the premier would not resign and verdict of the apex court would be accepted.

While addressing the meeting, PM Nawaz claimed that certain people are day-dreaming of coming to power through illegal means. He said that the opposition lawmakers should ready themselves for General Elections 2018.

He accused that ‘certain elements’ are not able to deal with country’s progress and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) under PML-N’s government.

The meeting presided over the by the premier came today after the top court reserved its verdict until later in Panamagate that has been chasing the first family of Pakistan ever since the leak of millions of documents surfaced in April 2016.

Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar skipped the meeting today after he was reported to have moved out of the last meeting that the PM had chaired over the same issue.

However, Nisar is scheduled for a press conference on Sunday to explain his side after there were reports of rift among the party members.

On the other hand, CM Shehbaz Sharif was flown in from Lahore in a private flight exclusively for the meeting.
