National Security Committee acknowledges sacrifices in war on terror
PM Nawaz chaired a meeting of National Security Committee including all three heads of armed forces
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the National Security Committee with all three heads of the armed forces i.e. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah and Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman.
The committee members discussed several issues regarding foreign policy, adding acknowledgment to the martyrs of Pakistan in war on terror.
The meeting was also attended by highly ranked officials, civil and military leadership and the federal cabinet. It was stated that no other country had suffered from as many sacrifices during war on terror as Pakistan.
During the national security committee meeting, it was suggested that the neighbouring Afghanistan should take active steps in controlling terrorism on its soil. The officials praised valour and bravery of the nationals. Nationwide Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad was credited for the various successful attempts to fail future terrorist attacks.
In order to curb the cross-border terrorist attacks, the committee members converged that Pakistan has been playing a vital role in ensuring peace in Afghanistan, adding that the neighbouring authorities need to continue effective measures to fight this menace.
On the ongoing unrest in India-held Kashmir, committee officials made it clear that the conflict resolution was the only way to promise long-term peace process.
