Sindh cabinet gives approval to change Altaf Hussain University's name
The approval was given during a cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – In the wake of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder’s anti-Pakistan remarks, the Sindh government has decided to replace Altaf Hussain University’s name with Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah University.
The approval was given during a cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at the Sindh secretariat today (Monday).
The chief minister told participants that there is no need to establish a university after a person who works in the hands of anti-Pakistan elements to destabilise the country.

It may be mentioned here that the groundbreaking ceremony of Altaf Hussain University was formed by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Bahria Town chief Malik Riaz in Latifabad town of Hyderabad in January 2015.
The university is being built on a plot of 80 acres. Land for the university was acquired at the cost of Rs380 million from the Hyderabad Development Authority.
It will offer education in business studies, pharmacy, information technology, mass comm and other subjects of social sciences. .
