PM Nawaz said that certain politicians only carry out negative politics

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asserted on Tuesday that former president and Chief of the Army Staff, Pervez Musharraf offered to cut a covert deal with him however, he refused, not compromising over principles.

The premier presided over a meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s parliamentary party in the federal capital today.

While addressing the participants, PM Nawaz said that the former dictator wanted to cut a deal with him but as there can be no compromise over principles, he refused it. It should be noted here that the former army chief had exiled Nawaz Sharif over 1999 coup after which the premier lived in Saudi Arabia before returnign to the country in 2008.

Sources have reported that Nawaz Sharif instructed the body to ramp up preparations for General Elections 2018. He announced to visit all provinces before the elections.

He said that the people have rejected those who resort to negative politics. He also talked about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Liquefied Natural Gas and electricity supply.

The premier vowed that the country would be made self-sufficient in electricity and natural gas. The economic corridor will prove to be a game-changer in the region. The meeting today was briefed by five federal ministers over the portfolios handed to them.
