President grants 3000 scholarships to Afghan students

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday awarded 3000 scholarships to Afghan students under a project of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The ceremony was held at the Pak-China Centre in Islamabad and was attended by Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chairman HEC Professor Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, Afghan ambassador and other dignitaries.



Afghan Minister for Higher Education Farida Mohmand congratulated the Pakistani government over the successful project for the education of Afghan students.

An Afghan student belonging to Jalalabad also lauded the project.



“I got admission in pharmacy department of Quaid-e-Azam University. I fell no hesitation in saying that my family, friends and teachers supported me at every step but this scholarship programme has played a pivotal role in improving my future,” she said.
