Rangers deployment in Punjab: Summary sent to governor

LAHORE (Dunya News) – In the wake of recent terror attacks across the country, the government of Punjab has decided to take a bold step, reported Dunya News.

According to details, the government of Punjab has asked for Rangers’ help in the operation against terrorists, facilitators and criminals.

The summary in this regard had also been sent to the governor of Punjab and after mutual consensus, a letter would be written to the federal government.

In addition, the matter of TORs would be figured by the apex-committee.

It had been mentioned in the summary that Rangers could be called for targeted operations in any part of Punjab.

The summary further revealed that CTD would be under the subordination of Rangers and that all operations would be kept as a top secret.

At the initial stage, Rangers would be deployed for sixty to ninety days.

Some major decisions were made in the apex-committee meeting in Lahore where it was agreed upon that the terrorists and their facilitators would not be spared.

It was also decided in the meeting that a shoot at sight orders would be issued for any terrorist who is caught with suicide vest or other ammunition.

The apex committee also agreed that the illegal movement of Afghan migrants and border areas would be closely monitored.
