Mahmoud Abbas is expected to hold meetings with President Mamnoon Hussain and PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority has arrived in Islamabad on a three day visit.

The Palestinian President was greeted warmly by his Pakistani counterpart Mamnoon Hussain upon his arrival.

Mahmoud Abbas is expected to hold meetings with President Mamnoon Hussain and PM Nawaz during his three day visit to the country.

During the visit, the Palestinian president is expected to inaugurate the newly-built embassy in Diplomatic Enclave during his visit.

It is pertinent to mention that this the third visit of Palestinian president to Pakistan.

Pakistan extends support to Palestine for an independent state and has voiced its stance on different international platforms.

Government of Pakistan had gifted a plot of land in 1992 to Palestine for construction of an embassy, the same one that is likely to be inaugurated.
