RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan has conducted successful test flight of Surface to Surface Ballistic Missile Ababeel on Tuesday that has a range of 2,200 kilometres (Km).

The missile is capable of delivering multiple warheads using Multiple Independent Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. The test flight was aimed at validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system, according to the notification issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Ababeel is capable of engaging multiple targets with high precision while defeating enemy’s radars.

Ababeel Weapon System aims at survivability of Pakistan’s ballistic missiles in the growing Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) environment.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain have appreciated the development and congratulated the nation.

Ababeel has come in as the second successful missile test in January 2017. Earlier on January 9, Submarine-launched Cruise Missile Babur-3 was successfully test-fired that is capable to engage a target in 450 kilometre (km) range.
