Tayyaba torture case: CJP orders police to complete investigation in ten days

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on Wednesday has ordered police to complete investigation into Tayyaba torture case in ten days.

Special investigation unit have submitted a report declaring additional session judge Raja Khurrum’s wife Maheen as culprit while the judge was also involved indirectly in the offense.

CJP clarified that no agreement would be acceptable in the case. He said that people beat children and say that the crime is bailable.

He further directed to present case challan to begin the trial over which the police said that submission of victim’s DNA report would also take two to three days.

Earlier, National Forensic Science Agency (NFSA) of Islamabad verified the DNA report of Tayyaba and her parents. It was found that Mohammad Azam and Nusrat Bibi are the real parents of Tayyaba.

Additional judge Raja Khurram and his wife were accused of torturing the little girl whereas news of pardon by Tayyaba’s parents had sent shock waves to all.

With the passage of time, as many as 5 couples claimed to be Tayyaba’s parents in between which made authorities take DNA test of child and all contending parents.

Tayyaba was recovered from Burma Town in Islamabad on January 8 and three days afterwards, Supreme Court took suo moto notice of the incident. The highest court had ordered to carry out DNA test to identify Tayyaba’s parents.

She was also ordered to be sent to Sweet Homes.
