Sindh government sends Sindh IG Khawaja on forced leave while Mushtaq Mehar takes additional charge
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Additional Inspector General (IG) Mushtaq Mehar has taken up additional charge of Sindh IG on Monday, reported Dunya News.
The latest development took place today after IG of Sindh Police A.D. Khawaja was sent on forced leave by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) led government in Sindh. The action took place after repetitive conflicts between the two groups on new appointments.
IG Sindh AD Khawaja sent on forced leave
The significant decision has been taken by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah just before the arrival of PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari in Pakistan. A notification of 15-day leave was issued for the Sindh IG A.D. Khawaja.
Sources reveal that tensions had continued to elevate in the circles for one and a half month. Previously, attempts were being made to remove A.D. Khawaja from his post, however, federal government and Sindh CM had opposed the decision.
According to reports, Sindh IG and ruling circles had disagreements on the appointments in government departments. Meanwhile, the federal government has opposed the forced leave notification for A.D. Khawaja.
