Hearing of the case was adjourned until tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) has ordered on Tuesday to sack employees of Health Department of Sindh whose appointments fall in violation of merit.

The court has warned to sack Secretary of Health if verdict was not implemented. The three-member bench rhetorically asked if there was dishonesty worst than appointment of ‘ghost employees’.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Anwar Zaheer Jamali headed the bench to hear the case during which anti-corruption department of Sindh was censured as the court remarked that the institution never took an action against people in higher positions.

A report presented by Health Department was rejected by the top court while Justice Amir Hani Muslim branded it to being synonymous to ‘stoking dust in eyes’. Anti-corruption department of Sindh was encouraging corruption, the court stated.

CJP Jamali said that the provincial government wished to delay the order.

Hearing of the case was adjourned until tomorrow.
